The default iOS 15 Photos widget will display random images from Celebrate and part Featured photo. The algorithm works in the background and keeps showing different images it thinks you might like.
However, sometimes certain photos may show up that you don’t like or want on your Home screen for personal or privacy reasons. In such cases, you have the option to change your featured photo in iOS 15 easily. Here’s how to do it.
How to remove Featured Image from Photos widget in iOS 15
Step 1: Click on the image in the main interface. It will open in Photos.
Step 2: Tap the icon Share then press Remove from Featured Image.
From tab For you in Photos, you can also long-press an image to get this option.
Next, you can click the three-dot button next to the Photos for you that you want to appear less often > select Highlight reduction.
A person selection panel will appear for you to choose the face you want to be less visible in the main view. You choose a face and click Next.
You will have two options:
- Reduced highlights for this person: This person will not be shown from Featured Photos.
- Never Feature This Person: You almost never see this person appear in your Memories section.
Above is how you can change the featured photo in iOS 15 as well as reduce the display of someone’s photo. If there are some unwanted images and you don’t have time to delete them individually, you may want to remove the display via this option.
